Hello!
I'm Mandy Gutierrez - mom of two, small business owner and photographer at KC Kids Photo.
I truly love being able to capture special moments for so many families as part of the KC Kids Photo team. When I chose to further my career in photography, I knew I wanted to work with a team that values connection, joy and meaningful experiences for families. KC Kids Photo felt like the perfect fit because of its child centered approach and focus on creating positive picture day experiences. Being trusted with these moments is something I truly value!
During picture day, I strive to create a warm, fun and relaxed environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I am patient, encouraging and always willing to take extra time when needed, especially with children who may feel shy or unsure. I am not afraid to be a little silly, offer reassurance, or meet a child exactly where they are to help bring out genuine smiles. I believe the best photos come from authentic moments and my goal is always to make picture day a positive experience for every child.
For the past five years, I have had the privilege of photographing major family milestones such as weddings and quinceañeras. Working in fast paced, high energy environments taught me how to stay calm, organized and focused while capturing candid moments as they naturally unfold. While I loved documenting those celebrations, my heart has always been drawn to working with children. Young children, from babbling babies to energetic preschoolers, bring an unmatched sense of authenticity, curiosity and joy that makes every session unique.
Above all else, I am a mother first. My two boys, ages 8 and 17, are my greatest inspiration and my biggest teachers. Being their mom has taught me patience, flexibility and how to create an environment where children feel safe and confident. In addition to my role with KC Kids Photo, I also own and operate my own cleaning business and photography business. Running my own businesses has strengthened my organization, time management, communication and attention to detail. These skills allow me to stay reliable, prepared and adaptable, even on busy picture days, and they carry directly into the care and professionalism I bring to every session.
I am honored to be part of the KC Kids Photo team and truly enjoy working alongside schools, staff and families to make picture day a smooth and positive experience. Knowing the images I capture become lasting keepsakes for families means so much to me and I take great pride in helping preserve these special moments in a child’s life.
